From Petticoats to Breeches: Unveiling 18th Century Clothing @WHQ

Madame de Pompadour by François-Hubert Drouais, National Gallery, London

On Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th, at Washington’s Headquarters, a fashion-based presentation “From Petticoats to Breeches: Unveiling 18th Century Clothing” will be given at 1:00 PM each day. If you’re curious about what an 18th Century lady wore under her six layers of clothing or why a gentleman’s hat had three corners on it, then come to the Museum and wonder no more.  The program will offer a hands-on approach into the diverse articles of clothing worn by 18th Century ladies and gentlemen.

This program is free with Museum admission. Call 845-562-1195 for more information.
