The Poné Ensemble for New Music @ SUNY Orange

On Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 7pm, the Poné Ensemble for New Music will perform in the Great Room, Kaplan Hall 101.

Admission for this event is $5 for the general public; free with SUNY Orange Student ID

In a new concert venture at SUNY Orange Newburgh Campus, members of the Poné Ensemble for New Music, with guest harpist, will bring you HARP, WINDS, and STRINGS in Chamber Music featuring musicians Fran Duffy, Marcia Gates, Joel Evans, Valentina Charlap-Evans, and Susan Seligman. Come enjoy delightful music for a spring evening that is bucolic, elegiac, and lively, including a jet whistle, a natural landscape, and a ruined castle.

Founded in 1974 by Gundaris Poné (1932 -1994) and Karen Poné (1935 – 2005), the Poné Ensemble for New Music is dedicated to the performance of contemporary chamber music.   Each concert season brings guest artists to join with the regular musicians of the Poné Ensemble in offering music of the 20th and 21st Centuries that you are unlikely to hear elsewhere. The Ensemble has premiered many works by living composers and seeks to increase the accessibility and enjoyment of contemporary music for appreciative audiences in New York’s Hudson Valley and beyond.  The Poné Ensemble for New Music is celebrating its 38th anniversary season in 2011-2012.

*The River Grill at the Newburgh waterfront will offer concert-goers a 10% discount on the night of the concert. Simply mention you are attending the Pone Ensemble concert at SUNY Orange.*
