We always knew this warehouse was meant for something big with those large amazing windows and the onsite parking. This property at 33 S. Robinson was featured 2 years ago. We thought it would make a nice niche supermarket, but instead it is now a venue for visual, live and culinary arts called Hudson Valley Arts Live. Their mission is to “promote the arts of the Hudson Valley and to build strong communities through the arts.”

The side street of this warehouse is Washington which, is another gateway street into the eastern end of the city that brings you directly to Washington’s Headquarters and the waterfront. It’s full of great small and modest row homes, many of which had storefronts that were converted to residences. Most of the homes are in dire need of renovation however, there definitely is the potential to have another commercial corridor on Washington. It is already home to many Latin families and businesses. Depending the direction this venue takes, it could be an anchor to the west end of Washington Street.

Their opening night celebration will feature Murali Coryell and the Funk Junkies. Tickets are $20 and the first 100 people to reserve and pay for tickets for their Opening Night Celebration on May 10th will receive a free year long membership to Hudson Valley Arts LIVE. Membership entitles you to advance notice of events, advance ticket sales, and some discounts. Details on their Facebook fanpage. **Opening has been postponed**

Warehouses are becoming quite the commodity in Newburgh.
