Brown’s Pond to Open for Fishing May 21, 2014
Brown’s Pond will open for fishing on May 21, 2014. Fishing will be from City-supplied boats only; NO outside boats will be allowed. The hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no fishing allowed from the shore.
The fees for boat rentals in Brown’s Pond are as follows:
Daily Permit:
1) One person
City of Newburgh residents: $6/day
Non-City of Newburgh resident $10/day
2) Extra passengers:
a) Two City of Newburgh residents: $4 per person per day
b) Two non-City of Newburgh residents: $8 per person per day
c) Three City of Newburgh residents: $14 per person per day
d) Three non-City of Newburgh residents: $26 per person per day
Masterson Park (Little Britain Road) is also open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekends for fishing from the shore only.
Fishing licenses are required; all anglers must abide by DEC regulations regarding taking of fish.
