On Saturday April 24 at 8 PM, the Ritz will present a performance by The Duke Robbilard Trio. The founder of Roomful of Blues and an iconic figure to guitarists around the world, Duke Robillard’s encyclopedic command of American roots music has made him indispensable to musicians as diverse as ’30s Kansas City jazz great Jay McShann to modern artists like Bob Dylan and Tom Waits. Called “one of the greats” by BB King, Duke has won numerous Blues Music Awards as “Best Blues Guitarist.” His new CD, Stomp, debuted on the Billboard Blues chart at number 7 and has been critically acclaimed.
