There have been many rumors regarding the proposed purpose of the restoration of the Liberty Street School. This Saturday you will have a chance to hear for yourselves what the real deal is by attending a discussion held at 55 Liberty Street from 12:30-1:30pm. One of the most believable rumors is that the city is quick to unload the property onto Bluestone so they aren't stuck with the liability of the asbestos. The city knew about the asbestos all along. The second part of that rumor is that Bluestone will claim- after they gain title- that it's not financially feasible to remediate and restore the school and will have it razed. Bluestone has a history that anyone can look up on the internet that should raise red flags.
