Rescue Me

Here is a sad cute little house on Washington Street between S. Johnson and Clark Street that needs rescuing. A new white picket fence, and updated historically accurate siding would really change this property. It’s so sad now. There is also an empty lot to the left, so maybe a driveway could be possible??

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!

  • Are all these properties in the Burgh for sale and are they severely discounted or are the owners trying to get full price for bldgs in need of severe rehab and alarm systems?I grew up there and am all too familiar with all of the streets if not the actual Bldgs I see on here.

  • Mike, I just go around and take pictures of dilapidated properties. If I have any knowledge of the building I post it, but if not, unfortunately I am not aware of the owners or the condition of it. However, with Newburgh I am pretty sure anything building is negotiable for sale if you can find out who the owner is.
