Rescue Me

Here is another abandoned home, chock-full of original architectural details. I can’t remember the exact location, but it was probably north of Broadway, around the Lander area. Maybe the interior is salvageable too? I love the dormers and the slate sidewalk.

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!

  • LOVE those dormers and the detail under them. The sidewalk is great too – I remember visiting my grandmother who lived on Carter St. and admiring the slate sidewalks. We lived in the town and didn’t have those!

P.S. The wedding cake house is for sale again…

  • Sidewalk material is called Bluestone

  • Yes, I saw that about the house 🙂 and yes, the house looks like it still has hope left. Let’s hope somebody sees that and saves it
