One of our Rescue Me homes has been rescued! When homes have been abandoned for a very long time the roof caves in and water damage wreaks havoc on floorboards and walls. Looking at the home from the outside you would have absolutely no clue how nasty this building actually was. Nasty is an understatement. William Bollinger of Spectrum Development did the work on this home and provided the interior photos.
Today the building looks nothing like it did 2 years ago! William Street still has a very long ways to go to bring back quaint shops and cafes. With that in mind Mr. Bollinger said that he chose to make the storefront space an apartment, but if the market can change for William Street, he’d be open to putting a store back into this space. Both of his units are available for rent at 63 William Street. Each has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Contact him here: 516-821-2040, Spectrumdevelopment@hotmail.com.
If you have your own before and after photos to share of your home exterior or interior and would like to share it on Newburgh Restoration, please email me.
WOW. I can hardly believe this! The outside especially looks so beautiful.
Newburgh rising!
Huge Huge Huge difference it looks great and I just hope that who ever gets to live there takes care of it and keeps up on it
What a transformation. Awesome
Im thinking bout buying me a building hummmmmmmmmm!!
Nice Work! A+A+A+ I would live there.
Im glad to see redevelopment in this part of the city. Its time we stopped focus on developing “yuppie” spots and start concentrating on redeveloping homes for those of us that live here and vie for better living!!!
Wow! What an amazing transformation!
Memories! Memories! My father, Hyman Horowitz , had the grocery store next door at 61 William Street. My grandfather, William Hoffman, owned 61 W and 59 William Street ( Hoffman Hoardware ) for approximately 60 years. We lived over the grocery store.Sixty three William Street was a kosher butcher store for many years. The buil;ding was owned by the Nadel family.
My daughter recented did a painting of 59 – 63 William Street as it was in the 50’s. I’d be happy to send a copy of the picture to you.
Thank you,,
Harriet Horowitz
