Between Spaces LLC is redeveloping the old ADS warehouse on Ann Street. On December 11 they went before they ARC and presented this design. This has to be done when your building is within the historic district. The project was approved and praised for their efforts to create something a bit more modern in Newburgh. This is going to be very exciting for the Liberty Street and Lower Broadway corridors. There will be a public art space component and retail use as well as pop-up space.
Now that the ARC has liberalized its historic “guidelines”, interest in Newburgh’s property inventory may move up a notch from those looking to incorporate a more modern facade into a historic renovation. Of course it’s only fair that the historic tax credit model be re-evaluated. It’s about time the ‘City broke from its historic chains…
