407 3rd St Newburgh NY

This home is west of 9W, near Colonial Terraces located on a corner lot. Across the street is a florist. Overall, it’s a pretty area. Rescuing this home would uplift this block.

52 Lander Newburgh NY

This was one of the first homes I fell in love with in Newburgh. Looking at the real estate listing photos (which you can still see here 6 years later) it seemed like a perfect little home. Then we arrived to see that it had been vandalized, all the copper had been removed and the kitchen in shambles. I still have  special place for this property and hope that one day a family can call it home. Zillow shows it sold for $18,200 in May 2014.

69 Beacon Street Newburgh NY

This home has been abandoned for a long time. It is on a corner lot which makes the location and rehabilitation very important. The current owners who live in Nanuet bought it for $20,000 in 2010. Just around the corner is the Nora Cronin Academy that was also in a horrible state of disrepair. However, it was rehabilitated into a new school and has helped to change S. Lander Street. Wouldn’t it be great if the children didn’t have to see this on the way to school? If anybody else knows any details of the home, please share.

36 William St Newburgh NY

William Street was once home to many shops, a place where many immigrants sought the American Dream. Today this red-bricked street is one of the most abandoned and derelict in Newburgh. This building already has the roof caving in. See here for what the building next door used to look like almost a century ago. I can’t find any records for 36 William, so if anyone knows any other details, please let us know in the comment section. Rescue me.

53 Beacon St Newburgh NY

Located at the southern end of the Heights Neighborhood is this home on Beacon Street that looks to be vacant for quite some time. Graffiti has been painted over and the house looks pretty sound. The home was bought for $189,000 in 2005. Today it sits abandoned. Rescue me.
