Liberty Abandoned

Abandoned houses at the corner of Liberty and Courtney. Very sad to see they have been left to decay for such a long time now, as they are such important buildings in the Heights Neighborhood!

This is a nice example of Tudor architecture in the City of Newburgh north of Broadway. I am not entirely sure the address is #413 but it was as close as I could get. It’s quite shocking this property is still vacant, perhaps there was a fire. There is a nice 2-car garage and driveway and the neighboring homes are nicely kept.

During the warm months it’s hard to find this hidden property on Edward Street. This is a quiet street near the Newburgh Brewery, the waterfront and a few artist spaces in warehouses nearby. It has been vacant for quite sometime and it is not city owned.

These are three abandoned buildings on S. Johnston that are right next to St. George’s Cemetery. They are a garage, carriage house and store front. They look like they have been abandoned for a long time and are deteriorating fast. Google maps shows the buildings in June 2012 in slightly better shape. Now they are pretty much just brick façades. They will cost a fortune to fix but the character and presence they create can never be duplicated.

This is a really nice small block in Newburgh just west of 9W. You can find tidy homes with meticulous lawns. I’m sure the neighbors are dying to have someone come and fix up this property. This is a privately owned property.
