Rescue Me

October Newburgh 122 Rescue Me

Seriously, this home looks just like the brownstones I pass on my way to work in Manhattan everyday…(sigh) I think this home at 290 Liberty Street could be purchased and rehabbed through an organization. Either way, this will be a gorgeous home one day. The house next door to the left has already been purchased, and the home owners are already sprucing up the property. Two newly restored houses to this block would be a huge improvement.

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them.

I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued!

Thank you – it is a shame that it’s been left to that. Hopefully someone will take on the restoration!

My wife and I own the house next door and we’d love to have owner-occupied neighbors next door. Please rescue this house and join the party in Newburgh!

I grew up in this house. It is indeed 290 Liberty St. We sold the residence after my father passed away in 1987. I left for the Army in 1988. I really miss my childhood home. Many many memories!
