Rescue Me

Newburgh is New York State’s second largest historic district after NYC. Newburgh literally has hundreds of dilapidated and abandoned buildings just begging for someone to come scoop them up and restore them. I thought it would be neat to start this new series called “Rescue Me.” It would be a way to bring some attention to Newburgh’s hidden potential and highlight Newburgh architecture. You never know who might be inspired…even this blog was inspired from an unexpected source. Feel free to post comments with any information you might have on the building featured.

I’ll continue to post my own photos, but if you have a particular building you would like to see saved, email me the photo of any building you appreciate that you would like to see rescued! I leave you in the words of Fontella Bass:

Rescue me
Take me in your arms
Rescue me
I want your tender charm
‘Cause I’m lonely
And I’m blue
I need you
And your love too
Come on and rescue me
