  • So the ‘City loses its Comptroller on the heels of losing its Planner and, not too long ago, its Police chief. It will be losing its Manager by year end. Will it lose its water superintendent? Its DPW head? Its engineer? Newburgh city council’s insistence on a residency requirement for its department heads is absurd. Or maybe that’s a scapegoat for a, seemingly, contempt of prowess and an abhorrence toward merit. It’s a pervasive ghetto mentality that the ‘City panders to and the reason why some fear Newburgh’s ‘revitalization getting out of hand’.
