“The Newburgh Rowing Hudson River Walking Trail is an 1,800 foot (about one third of a mile) very easy walking trail from the Washington Street boat launch to the Ward Brothers Memorial Park, a public park which is the home of the Newburgh Rowing club. Currently, the entrance into the Newburgh Rowing club is not yet open; we will announce when it is. For now, you can enter the trail from the Washington Street boat launch. Enjoy a scenic walk or bike ride along the Hudson river and (when the entrance is open), end up at the Ward Brothers memorial park, where the Newburgh Rowing club has kayaking and Rowing (for a fee) in the spring, summer and fall. If you want to carry your own kayak down, you can launch from the small kayak beach located in front of the Newburgh Rowing clubs 6000 square-foot Boathouse. However we urge you to take a safety class before going out on the Hudson river and also never ever kayak alone and always wear a PFD. Never kayak at night. The Ward brothers memorial park is open all summer, and is free to the public; it is open for picnics, fishing, and birdwatching, during daylight hours. The park Closes at dusk, no dogs or alcohol allowed. The picnic pavilion is reserved for members of the Newburgh Rowing club but maybe reserved in advance by contacting the Newburgh Rowing club. Come out and enjoy the Hudson river and our beautiful park, which you probably never even knew existed!”
